Why Are We So Unhealthy?
We do not consume quality nutrients.
Typically most are eating products that are in boxes or cans that have been highly processed. These foods do not feed our cells. They simply fill our bodies. Nutrient dense foods are those foods that are as close to the natural state as possible.
Standard American Diet (SAD)
As Americans our diet consist of fast foods or boxed foods that provide little nutritional value.
These foods leave you always wanting more. Our food cravings then make us overeat. We should stick to a nutrient dense whole foods diet. Have you ever been guilty of overeating apples?
The bottom line is that the food industries are not trying to promote our health. I believe that greed has taken over the food industry.
The Standard American Diet perpetuates an unending cycle of poor health.
The final reason we are so unhealthy is our failure to live a balanced lifestyle. In previous post I have gone over the 4 keys to living a balanced lifestyle.
We neglect our health due to the simple fact that we are so busy. We either choose not to eat or to eat fast foods. Then we are inside all day not moving around or getting fresh air. When we get tired due to working late hours we turn to caffeine to keep us awake. Then when we get home we just “veg out” in front of the TV loading up on calories. Then of course we eat a quick processed food dinner.
It is easy to see why we are so unhealthy.
